Automation & Integration

Send a JSON payload to an external webhook from a Script Activity.

Small public webhook contract for portfolio/contact workflows with explicit validation boundaries.

Reuse Marketing Cloud access tokens instead of creating a new token for every API request.

Back off when SFMC rate-limits a route instead of hammering it with immediate retries.

Return predictable success/error response shapes so callers can distinguish accepted input from workflow failure.

Separate authentication, authorization, payload, rate limiting and downstream-state problems in an external SFMC integration.

Separate ingress, workflow execution, credentials, downstream API and response-contract failures in a self-hosted n8n webhook.

Use SSJS for platform-local orchestration, but move large/complex processing to an external system when the workload demands it.

Know normal runtime, row count and cadence before deciding what “unhealthy” means.

Make retries safe by designing an operation so the same event can be processed more than once without duplicating side effects.

Treating a successful status as the only health signal hides stale data, runtime regression and partial business failure.

Keep public webhook ingress small, authenticated and validation-focused before handing work to deeper automation.

Build an API integration around token reuse, bounded retries, idempotency and observable failures instead of happy-path calls.

Turn a public webhook into a bounded interface with validation, authentication, stable responses and retry-safe side effects.
